Welcome to the City Of Camarillo, the fourth largest city in Ventura County, located just west of the Conejo Valley, down the grade on the 101 freeway. Camarillo claims slightly more than 61,500 residents and occupies just over 19 square miles of land.

What started as a purely agricultural town, Camarillo, today, is a multi-faceted blend of agriculture, high-technology, specialty-product development and urbanization, with a visible committment to preserving the open spaces. The City of Camarillo enjoys an unusually high percentage of college-educated and professionally-employed residents and ranks third in median family income out of Ventura County's ten cities.

Camarillo offers a number of outdoor activities and recreational opportunities at the Pleasant Valley Recreation and Parks District - including 27 parks, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, lighted ball fields, tennis courts, running tracks, children's play equipment, barbecues, and much more. There are over 30 miles of city bicycle routes, plus six public and 10 private golf courses within a twenty mile radius.

Additionally, the Santa Monica Mountains Recreational Area and the Los Padres National Forest are both within easy driving distance and the Pacific Ocean is just 7 miles away. The Channel Islands Harbor offers a number of aquatic activities such as canoeing, kayaking, and sailing. You can also take a boat 10 miles out to the eight offshore islands comprising the Channel Islands National Park, where you can hike, picnic, fish, scuba dive, or just relax and watch the sea lions. With all of these opportunties so nearby, local residents can take advantage of enjoying hiking, camping, picnics, fishing, horseback riding, sailing, surfing, and scuba diving among other activities,in a single day!

Cultural activities in the City of Camarillo include the Camarillo Arts Council (including the Summer Concerts in the Park series), the Camarillo Community Theater, the Conejo Players Theater, community Band Concerts, the Camarillo Art Center, the Camarillo Celtic Festival, the Camarillo Fiesta Association and annual Street Fair, the Camarillo Ranch Foundation and the nearby Strawberry Festival.

Camarillo's public school students attend Kindergarten - 8th Grade throughout schools in the Pleasant Valley, Mesa Union, and Somis Union School Districts which feed into Adolfo Camarillo High School within the Oxnard Union High School District. Four of the Pleasant Valley schools have received state or national recognition for academic excellence. Camarillo's High School students have achieved some of the highest Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores in Ventura County and generally rank well above state and national averages. There are also over 20 fine privately run schools in Camarillo, as well as three community colleges nearby.

If you're a fan of shopping, Camarillo is known for its Camarillo Premium Outlets featuring 125 fine outlet stores including a number of upscale names. Another feature of Camarillo is the old fashioned Farmer's Market that takes place every Saturday morning on Ventura Boulevard in Old Town.

The Camarillo Area Transit (CAT) system offers a "fixed-route" bus service that operates on a regular Schedule.  Camarillo Real Estate is very diverse and encompass all styles, from entry-level homes to large Estates and Equestrian Ranches. 

The temperatures in Camarillo average 73 to 87 degrees in the summer months and 55 to 70 degrees during the winter months.  The City of Camarillo is considered a fantastic place to live.
